How Campus Metrics Work in ChurchIQ
The Campus Metrics section in ChurchIQ breaks down participation (Groups and Volunteers) by campus.
For this to work accurately, ChurchIQ relies on structured campus assignments—not text in names.
Important: Names Are Not Used for Campus Assignment
Including a campus name in a group or event title (for example, “North Campus Small Group”) is not enough.
ChurchIQ does not determine campus based on naming conventions.
Instead, it looks for a designated campus field tied directly to:
- Groups (for Groups metrics)
- Events / Serving Opportunities (for Volunteer metrics)
Why Data May Be Missing or Incorrect
If groups or volunteer activity are not fully tagged to a campus, you may see:
- Missing data in Campus Metrics charts
- Data grouped under “Unknown” or not attributed to any campus
- Inaccurate comparisons between campuses
This happens when:
- Groups are created without a campus assignment
- Events or serving opportunities are not linked to a campus
- Campus is implied in the name but not formally assigned in the system
How to Fix It
To ensure accurate campus-level reporting:
For Groups
- Assign each group to a specific campus field in your system
- Confirm all active groups have a campus selected
For Volunteers
- Ensure events or serving opportunities are tied to a campus
- Verify that check-ins or serving records inherit that campus assignment
Best Practices
- Always use the campus field—not naming conventions
- Audit regularly to ensure new groups and events are properly tagged
- Standardize setup across campuses to keep reporting consistent
This Is Fixable
If your Campus Metrics are not displaying correctly, it is almost always due to missing or inconsistent campus tagging.
Once groups and events are properly assigned to campuses, the graphs will update to reflect accurate breakdowns.
