Create a dynamic message based on activity
Create a message that will disappear based on an action based on predetermined criteria.
There are several ways to remove a message from your dashboard. The most important thing to remember is that a person will be removed from a message when they no longer meet the criteria of the audience.
This could happen when:
-
Their badge status changes (lit or unlit)
-
They interact with a message or link
-
They register for an event
Below are a few examples of how this works:
1. Badge Status Changes
-
Filter: Next Steps Badge > Missing Serve Badge
-
Message Duration: The message will remain visible until the badge becomes lit.
2. Event Registration
-
Filter: Group Participation > Not a Member of 'X' Group
-
Message Duration: The message will disappear once the person becomes a member of 'X' group.
Note: You may need to set up an automation in your ChMS to add people to a group upon event registration.
3. Message Interaction
-
Filter: Dashboard Interaction > Dashboard Message > Clicked on Message 0 Times in Last 30 Days
-
Message Duration: The message will disappear once the person clicks on the Call to Action (CTA).
Be cautious when using this filter. Clicking the CTA doesn't always mean the action was completed. A person may click out of curiosity and return later to complete the sign-up. Consider combining this filter with others for better accuracy.
4. Using the Schedule Feature
The schedule feature is a great way to add movement to your messages. You can schedule messages to display on specific days (e.g., Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) or during the week leading up to a class or event.
5. Automatic Content Rotation Within Categories
For additional flexibility, you can set up automatic content rotation within categories. This feature allows you to rotate messages at designated intervals, ensuring fresh content is consistently displayed.
