Create a dynamic message based on activity
Create a message that will disappear based on an action based on predetermined criteria.
There are several ways to remove a dashboard message. A person is automatically removed from a message when they no longer meet the audience criteria.
This could happen when:
-
Their badge status changes (badge becomes lit or unlit)
-
They interact with a message or link
-
They register for an event
The following sections walk through five common removal methods with example filter configurations:
1. Badge Status Changes
-
Filter: Next Steps Badge > Missing Serve Badge
-
Message Duration: The message will remain visible until the badge becomes lit.
2. Event Registration
-
Filter: Group Participation > Not a Member of 'X' Group
-
Message Duration: The message will disappear once the person becomes a member of 'X' group.
Note: Depending on your ChMS, you may need to configure an automation that adds people to the group when they register for an event. Refer to your ChMS documentation for specific steps.
3. Message Interaction
-
Filter: Dashboard Interaction > Dashboard Message > Clicked on Message 0 Times in Last 30 Days
-
Message Duration: The message will disappear once the person clicks on the Call to Action (CTA).
Use this filter with caution. A click on the CTA does not guarantee the action was completed — someone may click out of curiosity and return later to finish signing up. For more reliable results, combine this filter with one or more additional filters.
4. Using the Schedule Feature
Use the Schedule feature to control when messages appear. You can configure messages to display on specific days (for example, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) or during the days leading up to a class or event.
5. Automatic Content Rotation Within Categories
Automatic content rotation lets you cycle through messages within a category at set intervals, keeping your dashboard content fresh without manual updates.
For step-by-step instructions, see Set Up Automatic Content Rotation in the Help Center.
