Creating a responsive poll

How to create a responding message based on participation on a poll

Creating a responsive poll is a great way to use member submitted data to engage and connect in new and fresh ways.

To create a responsive poll, you will need to create the poll and a response message for every response you want. These messages will utilize the Poll Results filter in order to respond to polls.

  1. Create the poll and the individual messages.
  2. Activate the poll.
    1. If you don't want the poll live yet, you can schedule it. The message does need to be in active or pending to grab it in the filter.
  3. Go to each message and use the "Poll Results" filter and select your poll and the response(s) you would like this message to appear for.
  4. Activate the message.

Once the poll is active, the active messages will then appear once someone responds.

Examples of Responsive Polls:

  • Interest in an upcoming event with a follow up of information
  • Identifying the impact of each sermon in a series and sending followup information based on each one.
  • Assessing members who need more care during holidays and sending resources depending on their responses.
  • Gauging interest in a potential new group or ministry and following up once the offering has been released.
  • Respond to reasons why someone might not be taking a next step.
