Fix Attendance Headcounts Showing "No Data" in ChurchIQ
Why Attendance Cards Show “No Data” in ChurchIQ
This article explains why attendance cards (such as Average Weekly Attendance and Previous Week Attendance) in ChurchIQ may display “no data,” and how to resolve it.
How ChurchIQ Attendance Data Works
A major ChurchIQ attendance dashboards are powered by headcount data, which can come from multiple sources depending on your setup:
- Direct integrations with your Church Management System (ChMS)
(including Planning Center, Rock, CCB, Simple Church, and TouchPoint) - Church Metrics (ChurchIQ’s preferred attendance solution)
- CSV uploads (manual data import)
Once data is flowing from your chosen source, ChurchIQ must also know which specific events or services to include in attendance calculations. Regardless of the source, ChurchIQ requires event configuration to determine which services should be included in key metrics like:
- Average Weekly Attendance (AWA)
- Previous Week Attendance
Why You May Be Seeing “No Data”
In most cases, “no data” typically does not mean your data is missing—it means it hasn’t been fully configured yet.
Attendance cards in ChurchIQ show "no data" when headcount data is not flowing from a connected source, or when the required event configuration has not been completed. In nearly all cases, this is a configuration issue that can be resolved quickly. Common causes include:
- No attendance data flowing from your selected source
- Events/services not defined for attendance calculations
- Integration access or setup not fully completed
How to Resolve the Issue
1. Confirm Your Data Source
Verify how your attendance data is being provided to ChurchIQ:
- Connected ChMS (Planning Center, Rock, CCB, Simple Church, TouchPoint)
- Church Metrics
- CSV upload
Ensure attendance (headcount) data exists for the expected dates.
2. Define Your Weekend Services
Share a list of the specific event or service names you want included in attendance metrics with your ChurchIQ support contact. Examples include:
- Sunday services
- Saturday services
- Primary weekly gatherings
ChurchIQ uses this list to calculate AWA and previous-week attendance.
3. (Recommended) Use Church Metrics
For the most reliable experience, ChurchIQ recommends using Church Metrics.
Benefits include:
- Cleaner and more consistent attendance tracking
- Easier configuration
- Better alignment with ChurchIQ dashboards
4. CSV Upload Option
If you are not using a supported integration, you can upload attendance data manually via CSV. To do this, follow these steps: - Download the ChurchIQ CSV template from your dashboard settings. - Populate it with your attendance headcounts and corresponding service dates. - Upload the completed file through the Import section in ChurchIQ.
- Ensure consistency with your selected service definitions
Summary: Resolving the "No Data" Issue
If your dashboard is showing “no data,” it can be resolved with the correct configuration.
In nearly all cases, this simply requires:
- Confirming your data source
- Identifying the correct events
- Finalizing setup on the ChurchIQ side
